• Aburame techniques do not require that the character physically weave signs with their hands, however, the techniques still require an amount of time equal to handseals to use. These techniques still take away from a character's maximum handseals per round.

"During the Era of Warring States, the Aburame clan was a wild and untamed tribe that lived throughout forests in the Land of Fire. Few were able to hire them, or even knew they existed, but those who did discovered a rare power -- the power of the Kikaichū beetles. These beetles, which live inside every member of the Aburame, are able to consume the chakra of an opponent. The Aburame used the beetles to strike down their foes, and eventually joined forces with the First Hokage and Madara Uchiha to form the Leaf Village.

"Although always looked down upon due to their love of insects, the Aburame lived a peaceful and quiet life of solitude within the forests of the Leaf Village. Their clan leaders were not well known, and many could not understand the odd traditions of the Insect Masters. Eventually, however, some Aburame started to become ninja and their power was recognized by the Hokage. Aburame started being given special positions in the government that usually involved stealth and scouting until the clan name was known throughout the Land of Fire. By the time of Naruto Uzumaki, the Aburame had prospered greatly despite their odd culture.

"Aburame almost always wear black sunglasses over their eyes, and occasionally keep a gourd on their back to hold additional insects that won't fit within their body. There always seems to be a host of insects wherever they go, such as beetles and ants that crawl across their skin and nearby surfaces. Although somewhat eerie and quiet, most Aburame tend to be loyal and hold a lot of respect for the natural world -- even down to the smallest insects. In the modern era, Aburame have started to move across the globe to occupy various jungles and forests. But the greatest crowds still gather in communities across the Land of Fire."[/ul]

Basic Techniques

Name: Kikaichū Host

Description: At a young age, Aburame clan members are left in several different insect nests and allowed to become a host for hundreds of them. The most common species utilized by the Aburame is the Kikaichū. This type of beetle feeds on chakra, unlike an ordinary insect, and forms a symbiotic connection with the Aburame host. This technique determines the range of the user's Kikaichū beetles, but unfortunately cannot do physical damage on its own. The user can control the beetles up to 5 meters away + 5 meters per rank that they know in this technique. The Kikaichū must be sent out in a line, although they can turn and weave around obstacles. If the line of Kikaichū touches a person, then they can drain up to 1 Chakra point per round. This chakra drain is temporary and lasts 2 rounds per the user's character level. This technique always takes an amount of chakra, and time, equal to a C-ranked jutsu.

Description: The user has acquired so many of the Kikaichū beetles that their techniques with them have an even greater range. For every time that the user learns this technique, their Kikaichū clan jutsu will be extended by an additional 5 meters.

Description: Allows the user to train their Kikaichū beetles to feed chakra even more quickly. Now, if the beetles touch an opponent, they will be able to drain an additional +1 Chakra per time the user has learned this technique.

Advanced Techniques

Name: Beetle Feast
Rank: "A"
Type: Ninjutsu
Drawbacks: Does not deal traditional damage.
Description: The user sends out a wave of Kikaichū beetles across the ground toward up to three targets within a 3 meter per character level radius. A swarm of beetles will cover the opponents, consuming an amount of Chakra equal to Kikaichū Host plus 1d6 additional points due to the strength of this technique. It takes the beetles only a second to absorb the opponent's chakra, and then they can either travel back to the user or be used in additional techniques.

Name: Beetle Jamming Jutsu

Drawbacks: n/a
Description: Allows the user to send out their Kikaichū beetles into the environment around them. The beetles will form small groups and clouds, emitting a little bit of the chakra that they normally feed from their opponents. This will confuse sensory type shinobi, or ninja that can see chakra, since there appears to be several different chakra signatures scattered around the area. This jutsu can be cast across an area up to 5 meters per character level. The user can create up to 1 fake chakra signature per character level.

Name: Beetle Sphere

Type: Ninjutsu
Drawbacks: Does not deal traditional damage.
Description: The user sends their Kikaichū beetles to swarm the air and look for an opponent within a 2 meter per character level radius around them. The beetles will look everywhere, and are able to detect heat and chakra signatures which lead them to a specific target. When the beetles have found the foe, they will target on him or her and cover them in a layer of Kikaichū. The opponent will not be able to see or move easily, and will have their chakra drained (as per Kikaichū Host) per round. The beetles will drain an additional +1 Chakra point per round due to the mass of insects used in this technique. The beetles will continue to swarm the opponent for up to 5 rounds.

Name: Insect Wall
Rank: "B" (Multiple, Max 3)
Type: Ninjutsu
Drawbacks: n/a
Description: Allows the user to form a dome around them, out to a radius up to 5 meters wide, that is made of spinning Kikaichū beetles -- ravenously eating away at the air to protect the user. The dome can block incoming attacks, or foes, from every direction, and offers up to 50 hp of defense per time the user has learned this technique. A person must break through the dome of beetles to even get close to the user. If an opponent comes into contact with the Insect Wall, they will lose an amount of Chakra equal to Kikaichū Host as well as being blocked from entering.

Name: Kikaichū Clouds
Rank: "C", "B", "A", "S"
Type: Ninjutsu
Drawbacks: Does not deal traditional damage.
Description: The user is able to train their Kikaichū beetles to form swarms, or clouds, around them to create a versatile offense or defense. The user is able to create up to 1 swarm per time they've learned this technique. Each swarm may travel a distance away from the user equal to the range of Kikaichū Host. The duration of this jutsu is 2 rounds per time the user has learned this technique. The user may sacrifice 1 movement to send a cloud of beetles to feast on a target. If the swarm is able to reach the victim, then it will consume an amount of Chakra points equal to Kikaichū Host every round. A swarm of beetles can be destroyed by dealing at least a C-ranked amount of damage to the cloud. Each swarm is the size of a medium creature.

Description: Allows the user to fuse two of their clouds, or swarms, of Kikaichū beetles together in order to form one, large cloud that a person can ride upon. This "nimbus of insects" is able to fly across the air and transport a character through the sky. A useful technique for getting across vast distances or outmaneuvering an opponent. Only the user can ride upon the cloud. The duration of this technique is equal to Kikaichū Clouds.

Name: Solid Swarms

Description: Allows the user to control the Kikaichū Clouds with even greater control and precision, so that the user can cause a swarm to pick up objects or interact with the environment. Each swarm may act as one additional limb and takes away from the user's total movements per round. A single swarm can lift, or hold, up to 100 lbs. of weight. In this way swarms can be used to steal objects at a distance or create obstacles for an opponent. A solid swarm can be used to hit an opponent and deal a C-ranked amount of damage, as well as consume an amount of chakra equal to Kikaichū Host.

Name: Kikaichū Tracking Technique

Description: The user plants a female Kikaichū beetle on their opponent by coming into close contact with them (although, they can pretend that their attack barely misses). The beetle will remain hidden on the opponent for up to 10 minutes per time the user has learned this technique. For as long as the female beetle is planted on the opponent, the user's male Kikaichū beetles will be able to sniff her out -- thereby creating a powerful tracking technique. The male beetles will be able to smell the female beetles exact location within 100 meters per time the user has learned this technique.

Name: Parasitic Giant Beetle Infestation

Description: The user causes several of their most deadly Kikaichū beetles to hide on an opponent, after hitting an opponent with some other Aburame technique, then focuses their chakra to signal when the beetles should burrow into the opponent's skin (opponent must be within user's line of sight to give the signal). These special beetles will tear through the opponent's flesh and into their body, eating them from the inside out -- chakra and all. The beetles burrow throughout an opponent's body for up to three rounds. Every round the beetles consume an amount of Chakra points equal to Kikaichū Host + 2 additional points. The beetles also deal 5 hp of damage per character level, every round, to the unfortunate host. After three rounds, several large beetles the size of dogs will rip out of the opponent (up to 1 beetle for every 3 character levels) which can move around and attack additional foes. Each of these special beetles has 1/2 of the user's movements and hp, and can deal a C-ranked amount of damage (and consume 1 Chakra point) upon a successful bite attack. These beetles can never travel more than 20 meters away from the user and cannot fly. These beetles have a very short lifespan and will expire three rounds after being birthed from a victim.
