Ninja Monk Trait
- Type: Standard
- Requirements:
- Must sacrifice 1 class slot to take the Ninja Monk trait.
- Must have a Will stat of at least 14.
- Description:
"Ninja monks are not part of a religion, nor do they worship a specific god, although they do revere contemplation and the power of the mind. There are many different temples, and branches, of the ninja monks -- but all of them focusing on harnessing one's awareness and consciousness. The masters of the temples claim that all of a monk's strength comes from their mind. Most ninja monks will begin work as a sort of volunteer for the temple. Over time, they will begin to learn the doctrine of their masters and the special abilities known only to monks. Each branch of monks have their own system of rank that defines the hiearchy of their order." - History:
"After Asura Ōtsutsuki died, over a thousand years ago, his followers began to take up residence in old dojos and huts where they taught students about the power of ninshu. After a time many of them acquired their own followers and eventually the huts became temples where they taught the power of, not only ninshu, but the mind as well. People began to come from all over the world to see the famous ninja monk temples, and to try to learn their secrets.
The temples had to become more strict about their rules for entry, until eventually they looked almost like a modern-day hidden village. Although, instead of a military base, the monk temples acted as a sort of sanctuary or safehouse during the wars of the five, great nations. Many citizens of the various countries would flee to temples for protection, and the monks would guard them so long as they agreed to uphold their philosophy. As the hidden villages actually came into existence, however, the ninja monk society began to dwindle.
Many of their followers moved to the hidden villages and started lives as ninja -- giving up their old philosophies and taking to battle. As years passed, the temples continued to grow smaller until the ninja world fell into peace after the Fourth Great Ninja War and followers started to return to the temples. The masters hope that the unprecedented era of peace will last but fear that soon the hidden villages will once again close their gates, and that the people will be focused on bloodshed rather than the power of the mind." - Ranks:
Description: A ninja monk has naturally high Speed and Will, giving them a +1 permanet bonus to both stats. Additionally, a ninja monk gets a special ability called Slow Fall. As long as they are falling within arm's reach of a wall or hard surface, the monk can reach out and slow their fall for up to 20 meters -- landing safely when they hit the ground.

Description: The ninja monk gains a Furry of Blows ability that allows them to move with greater speed, at the cost of reduced strength and accuracy. The ninja monk can sacrifice -5 hp damage from all of their attacks in a specific round to add +1 movements to their overall total in the same round.

Description: A ninja monk has such strong will that it is more difficult for genjutsu, and other mind-affecting techniques, to hit them than an average person. The ninja monk gains an ability called Strong-Willed. If an opponent uses a genjutsu that deals partial damage even if the user succeeds on their Dispel Genjutsu roll, then actually the user will take no damage from that genjutsu attack. Additionally, the ninja monk gains an ability called Ki-Strike which adds +1 hp damage per character level to their unarmed strikes. This extra damage is considered ninjutsu / chakra, although the user's regular unarmed damage is still considered taijutsu. Ki-Strike requires no chakra or handsigns to activate.

Description: The ninja monk gains an additional +1 permanet bonus to the Speed and Will stats. The monk's Furry of Blows ability is upgraded. The monk can now sacrifice -10 hp damage from all of their attacks to gain an additional +2 movements per round.

Description: The ninja monk gains an ability called Diamond Body. Natural diseases and poisons no longer affect the monk due to their high spiritual energy and will-power. Chakra diseases and poisons will still affect the monk normally.
