Jorōgumo Clan
Location: Land of Sound
Type: Bloodlimit
Clan Leaders: n/a
Restrictions:
- Must sacrifice 1 class slot to learn all the Jorōgumo techniques.
- All Jorōgumo start out with six arms instead of two. These arms function exactly as the user's other arms, however, the user cannot use two different techniques at the same time due to the strain on the user's concentration.
- Jorōgumo techniques do not require the user to actually make handseals. But, unless otherwise noted, the Jorōgumo techniques still take chakra and an amount of time equal to their rank to perform. The Jorōgumo techniques still take away from the user's total amount of handseals per round like other ninjutsu.
"The Jorōgumo are a clan of spider masters -- users who look and act like the arachnids that they so revere. The Jorōgumo are born with six arms and can produce a special sort of webbing from their mouth, made out of both parts chakra and saliva. Most of the Jorōgumo have dark hair and wear loose, darkly colored clothes, the better to scout and hide among the landscape. Jorōgumo are known for being close to arachnids, snakes, and other predatory wildlife. Most Jorōgumo live solitary lifestyles, or in small groups within their clan, preferring not to organize into complex communities.
The first Jorōgumo are said to have originated when a man laid with a spider goddess, who he'd worshipped, and she bore his children. Those children grew into the first clan leaders of the Jorōgumo in the Land of Rice Paddies, or so it is said. The Jorōgumo grew numerous, over time, and occupied many regions throughout the country. There were numerous other clans in the land at this time as well, however, so often the Jorōgumo would be at war. Still their warriors were fierce, and over the decades the Jorōgumo clan thrived in this bloody atmosphere.
When Lord Orochimaru approached the clan about helping him start a civil war, the Jorōgumo made an alliance with him. Their warriors helped Orochimaru take over the Land of Rice Paddies and turn it into the Land of Sound. However, after they were done, Orochimaru gave many of them over to his experiments and kept only a few alive. Those who survived were released during the Fourth Great Ninja War, moving back into the Land of Sound to repopulate their clan. Today many of the Jorōgumo have hidden away in burrows, and city ruins, not often seen among the residents of the hidden villages." [/ul]
