"The Kaguya were once a feared and powerful warrior clan, stemming from the Otsutsuki clan of Kaguya herself (the other-worldly being who brought chakra to earth). The Kaguya inherited the Otsutsuki's signature taijutsu, which allowed them to control and manipulate the growth of their bones. Using special calcium deposits, and their chakra, the user is able to supply their bones for a variety of purposes such as attack or defense. However, only certain members of the Kaguya could utilize this ability. Most of the Kaguya were battle-hungry barbarians, who couldn't use any jutsu because of their lack of concentration. They imprisoned any Kaguya who showed the talent for the bone control, fearing its awesome power.
"Eventually, however, the Kaguya clan decided to go to war with the Hidden Mist Village. This was an absurd notion, inspired by the clan's brutality. The Kaguya clan released their prisoners, who could control their rare kekkei genkai, and let them fight in the war against Kirigakure. The fighting did not last long. In a night, most of the Kaguya clan had been killed. Lord Orochimaru saved one, however, a boy named Kimmimaru. He took this boy back to the Land of Sound and nurtured him for several years. It wasn't until he developed a terminal illness, and died, that the Kaguya clan was truly extinct.
"Due to Kabuto's experiments, however, a few of the genes were re-implanted into new hosts (clones). Many of them died, but some survived and were later trained to use the Kaguya techniques while under Kabuto's mentorship at the Hidden Leaf Village. They grew up and traveled to other lands, beginning to repopulate the Kaguya clan. For two centuries the clan has started to revive itself. Although their numbers are still small, now the Kaguya clan can be found in many different nations. Some of the Kaguya have even talked about organizing once again, and electing clan leaders. One just hopes that, this time, they will have learned their lesson."[/ul]
